Silvianthus bracteatus Hooker, f.

Description of the Plant:

A glabrous shrub; young parts often scabrid with short, rusty hairs. Leaves elliptic-obovate or lanceolate, irregularly toothed. Flowers white, in axillary or terminal bracteate cymes. Capsule globose.

Mode of Uses:

The crushed leaves and roots are applied to affected areas for the treatment of leprosy (Chakma).

Distribution:

Hill forest of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts and Cox's Bazar.
