Description of the Plant:

A large evergreen tree. Leaves elliptic-oblanceolate, pubescent beneath. Flowers yellowish-white. Fruits globose.

Mode of Uses:

The crushed root of Ardisia paniculata and Persea villosa is taken for abnormal behaviour (Chakma).

Distribution:

Occurs in the forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts and Cox's Bazar.
