Description of the Plant:

A small tree; young parts stellate-tomentose. Leaves simple, ovate, orbicular, often peltate, villous beneath. Flowers greenish-yellow, in panicles. Capsules black.

Mode of Uses:

A root extract is taken, in addition warmed bark is pressed to affected areas for the treatment of piles (Chakma).

Distribution:

Forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet and Moulavi Bazar.
