Description of the Plant:

A shrub. Branchlets pubescent or tomentose. Leaves very variable, narrow to elliptic, caudate acuminate. Flowers white in long peduncled brachiate, pubescent cymes. Fruit size of a pea, red, crowned calyx limb.

Mode of Uses:

A paste of the leaves and fruits of Ixora villosa and Rauvolfia serpentina is taken for the treatment of abdominal pain (Chakma).

Distribution:

Forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Sylhet and Cox's Bazar.
