Description of the Plant:

A small to medium-sized but tall, deciduous tree. Leaves subsessile, obovate, shortly acuminate, shining on both surfaces.Flowers large, subsessile, terminal, white, changing to yellow, fragrant.Fruit ellipsoid, 5-ribbed.

Mode of Uses:

  • Leaves are used for the treatment of rheumatic pain and bronchitis (Chakma).
  • This species are planted for good smell in home. Seeds are eaten (Khumi).
  • Young women use this flower to decorate them. Fruits is eaten by kids as a nutritive food (Murang).

Distribution:

Forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet and Moulvi Bazar.
