Description:

Loolely tufted sympodial bamboo. The clumps is bushy, branches are on the upper half. Nodes slightly greater in diameters then the internoes. Internode long, has two ridges. Young culm is glaucous green and usually covered by long papery remmants of sheaths and dark brown pubescence. Leaves gradually acuminate at the tip.Fruits caryopsis.

Using Information:

Young shoots are cooked and taken as vegetable (Chakma, Tripura, Marma, Bawm).
