Description of the Plant:

A small evergreen to semi-deciduous tree. Leaves slightly cordate, lobes acute or subobtuse, not reaching half way down. Racemes axillary, short peduncled, corymbose. Petals oblong, white. Pods oblong, flat.

Mode of Uses:

  • Barks and leaves are used in dropsy (Chakma).
  • Decoction prepared from bark is taken for the treatment of asthma (Khumi).
  • Leaf extract is taken to treat piles. Also planted as ornamental (Murang).
