Tribal Name: Alachengay (Chakma).
A rhizomatous perennial herb with leafy stem. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, pubescent beneath. Spikes oblong, peduncle as long as the spike. Corolla-tube cylindric; segments obtuse, half as long as the tube; lip deflexed, ligulate, red-yellow. Fruit ovoid, strongly ribbed.
A root extract is applied to affected areas for the treatment of abscesses (Chakma).
